One E26 bulb, not included, so you can pick your own brightness and colour temperature. Max 15W LED, and that's the LED rating, not the light output. A 15W LED puts out roughly the same light as a 100W incandescent. For a desk look for 3000K, for a nightstand go warmer at 2700K.

Is it bright enough to work under?

Yes, on a desk. The shade is narrow and angled, so the light goes down onto the surface instead of spreading around the room. One E26 at 15W LED is roughly a 100W incandescent, which is plenty for a desk or a book. On a nightstand that's more than you want at full output, so either go with a lower-output warm bulb or put it on a smart bulb you can dim.
