Canada's home for Canadian shopping.
Shoppa exists for a simple reason: supporting Canadian businesses should be the easiest thing you do all day, not a research project.
Most of us want to buy Canadian. The trouble is actually doing it. Canadian-owned brands are scattered across thousands of individual websites. You end up with a dozen browser tabs, a dozen separate shipping fees, and a nagging doubt about whether that “Made in Canada” label really means what you think it means.
So we built the front door. One marketplace. Hundreds of Canadian-owned brands. One cart, one checkout, and a clear, honest label on every product so you always know exactly what you're supporting.
What we believe
What Qualifies as Canadian?
We'd rather tell you the truth than sell you a flag.
Here's the honest answer to the question everyone asks: not every product on Shoppa is manufactured in Canada, and we'll always tell you which is which.
Every product sold on Shoppa meets our eligibility criteria. But in some categories like textiles, apparel, electronics and others, manufacturing still happens overseas so that Canadian businesses can stay cost-competitive. That's the reality of running a small brand in this country, and pretending otherwise wouldn't help anyone.
So instead of a vague “Canadian” sticker, we label products using the Government of Canada's own guidelines, so you can make an informed choice every single time.
Every brand on Shoppa is Canadian-owned — that's the price of entry. The labels tell you how much of the making, as well as the owning, happens here.
What's next
We're building Shoppa Live! Live shopping that brings Canadian makers face-to-face with the people who buy from them, streaming right across the marketplace and our social channels. Discovery, but with a personality, an open forum for questions and a meaningful connection to the brave and brilliant people who build brands in the face of multinational giants.
