Depends on your ceiling. This one hangs all three shades from a single canopy on one ceiling box, and it costs less than buying three singles. Three separate pendants need three boxes wired into the ceiling, which usually means an electrician and drywall work, but it lets you place each shade exactly where you want and space them as far apart as you like. If you have one wire in the ceiling and want a grouped look, take this. If you want three shades spread along a long island, buy singles and get the boxes put in.

This one gathers, the others spread out. The three shades sit inside a 13.78 inch circle, so it reads as one object and lights one spot. The 4-light runs 31.5 inches in a line, which suits a long rectangular island or table. The 6-light is wider again at 28.35 inches and hangs the shades at varying heights for a bigger room. Same shade and same ribbed glass across all of them, just different arrangements.

Anywhere you want one point of light rather than a spread. A round dining table, an entryway, a stairwell landing, a reading corner, or the centre of a smaller island up to about 5 feet. At 13.78 inches across it fills a spot without dominating it. Over a long rectangular table it will look undersized, and that's what the 4-light is for.

It breaks it up. A smooth shade gives you one even glow; the ribbing turns it into soft vertical bands that fall onto the surface below and spread onto the wall behind. With three shades those bands cross each other. It is decorative light as much as functional light, so over a work surface plan on other light in the room as well.

It's a hardwired fixture that requires installation. If you're replacing an existing ceiling light on the same box, many people handle it themselves. If you're adding a new box or moving the location, use a licensed electrician.

Turn it off and let the bulbs cool first. A dry microfibre cloth handles dust. For marks, a barely damp cloth and a dry buff. Don't spray cleaner directly at the fixture, spray the cloth. The ribbing catches dust, so a soft brush is useful.

No, it's rated for dry locations only. Keep it out of bathrooms with a shower or tub, and out of anywhere exposed to damp, including covered outdoor areas.
