This & That - Classic Beef Back Strap Dog Treats

TL;DR: This & That Classic Beef Back Strap Dog Treats are single-ingredient, air-dried Canadian beef chews made for medium to large dogs, including power chewers. The tough, sinewy texture supports dental health through natural chewing, with no additives, preservatives, or fillers.

Beef back strap is the ligament that runs along a cow's spine — dense, fibrous, and built to withstand serious chewing. This & That air-dries Canadian beef back strap into a long-lasting chew with nothing else added.

If your dog powers through soft treats in seconds, a back strap chew gives them a job to do. The natural scraping action as they gnaw helps reduce plaque build-up on teeth and gums.

Specifications

Who is it for?

This chew suits medium to large dog breeds who prefer to work on a treat rather than swallow it whole. It's a good match for power chewers, dogs on single-protein diets, and owners looking for a natural alternative to processed dental sticks.

Because back strap is firm and fibrous, it isn't ideal for small puppies or dogs with dental issues that prevent vigorous chewing. The single-ingredient recipe can also be a simpler choice for dogs prone to a sensitive stomach.

Feeding & use

Offer one chew as an occasional treat, not a meal replacement. Always supervise your dog while they chew, and keep fresh water nearby.

Discard any small end pieces once the chew becomes short enough to swallow whole. As with any new treat, introduce it gradually if your dog has a sensitive stomach.

How does it compare to other natural chews?

Back strap sits on the tougher end of the natural-chew spectrum — denser than soft jerky, less brittle than bone. If you want to rotate textures, try the This & That - Classic 3" Beef Trachea Dog Treats for a lighter crunch, the This & That - Classic Duck Feet Dog Treats for a duck-protein option, or the Benko - Marrow Dog Treats for heavy chewers.

Rotating between This & That dog treats keeps enrichment interesting and lets you match chew difficulty to your dog's mood and chewing style. Many GTA owners keep two or three textures on hand for that reason.
