Skout's Honour - Super Sour Anti-Chew Spray

TL;DR: Skout's Honour - Super Sour Anti-Chew Spray is an 8 oz bitter-tasting training aid that discourages dogs and puppies from chewing furniture, shoes, leashes, and paws. The non-staining, alcohol-free formula is safe for pets and most household surfaces, making it a practical addition to behavioural treatments at home.

Destructive chewing is one of the most common puppy-training challenges. This spray applies a strong bitter flavour to off-limits items so your dog learns to leave them alone on their own.

What does this anti-chew spray do?

The formula relies on an extremely bitter taste to discourage chewing on contact. Spray it on the object you want protected — once your dog samples the surface, the unpleasant flavour does the teaching for you.

Specifications

Who is it for?

This spray is made for dog and puppy owners working through a chewing phase, or anyone protecting specific items like couch legs, shoes, baseboards, or leashes. It fits naturally alongside other behavioural treatments and reward-based training.

How do you use it?

Shake well, then spray a light, even coat directly onto the surface or item you want your dog to avoid. Reapply as needed — frequency depends on wear, cleaning, and how persistent the chewer is.

Always spot-test delicate fabrics or finishes in a hidden area before full application. Avoid spraying near your dog's face and keep the bottle out of reach of children.

Is it safe around the home?

The formula is alcohol-free and designed not to stain typical household surfaces. That makes it easier to use on upholstery, wood furniture, and leather goods that other sprays might damage.
