Royal Canin - Size Health Nutrition Large Breed Puppy Dry Dog Food

TL;DR: Royal Canin Size Health Nutrition Large Breed Puppy is a chicken-based dry dog food formulated for puppies expected to reach a large adult size. It comes in 4 lb, 17 lb, and 30 lb bags, sized for the extended growth phase large breeds go through before adulthood.

Large-breed puppies grow for a longer period than small or medium breeds, so their kibble needs to match that timeline. This formula sits within Royal Canin's Size Health Nutrition range and is shaped for larger puppy jaws.

Who is it for?

Royal Canin large breed puppy food is intended for puppies expected to reach a large adult size during their growth phase. If you've just brought home a puppy from a breeder or rescue, picking a breed-size-specific formula is one of the first feeding decisions to lock in.

It also fits owners preparing for an active routine — training classes, outings, and daily play — where consistent, size-appropriate nutrition supports steady growth.

How long should a large-breed puppy stay on this food?

Large-breed puppies typically stay on a puppy formula longer than small or medium breeds, because they continue growing past their first birthday. When your dog is ready to move on, the Royal Canin - Size Health Nutrition Large Breed Adult Dry Dog Food is the matched next step in the same range.

What if my puppy isn't a large breed?

Royal Canin applies the same size-based approach across its puppy line, so you can match the formula to your dog's expected adult size. You may also like the Royal Canin - Size Health Nutrition Medium Breed Puppy Dry Dog Food or the Royal Canin - Size Health Nutrition Small Breed Puppy Dry Dog Food for a smaller pup in the same household.

Feeding & use

Follow the feeding chart printed on the bag, which specifies daily amounts based on your puppy's current weight and expected adult weight. Transition gradually from the previous food over about 7 days, and keep fresh water available at all times.

Store the bag sealed in a cool, dry place to keep the kibble fresh. The 4 lb bag suits a trial or travel, the 17 lb fits everyday feeding, and the 30 lb is practical for multi-dog households or longer feeding cycles.

Feeding a large breed dog food puppy formula through the full growth window matters more than it does with smaller dogs, since the timeline stretches well past 12 months. Royal Canin puppy large breed bags are stocked in all three sizes so you can scale up as your puppy's appetite does.
