Riley & Rex - Plush Fish Catnip Cat Toy

TL;DR: The Riley & Rex Plush Fish Catnip Cat Toy is a soft, catnip-filled fish-shaped plush built for batting, pouncing, and bunny-kick play. It's a solid pick for adult indoor cats who need daily enrichment and an outlet for their hunting instincts.

Indoor cats still carry the same predatory wiring as their outdoor cousins, and plush cat toys give them somewhere to direct it. This fish-shaped toy pairs a soft body with a catnip fill, so it rewards curiosity from the first sniff.

The lightweight shape lets your cat bat it across the floor, carry it in their mouth, or wrestle it between their back paws — the three behaviours most cats use to "hunt" a toy. If you're looking to buy plush toys online for enrichment, a catnip fish is an easy starting point.

Specifications

Who is it for?

This toy suits adult cats and playful kittens who respond to catnip, and it's especially useful for indoor cats who need more active play throughout the day. If your cat likes to carry soft toys around or kick at them with their back legs, a plush fish is a natural fit.

Not every cat reacts to catnip — sensitivity is genetic, and roughly one in three cats doesn't respond. If yours is in that group, they may still enjoy the plush shape and lightweight feel on its own.

Feeding & use

Offer the toy during short, active play sessions — a few minutes of tossing or dragging it along the floor usually triggers a chase. Rotate it with other cat toys every few days so the novelty, and the catnip scent, stays strong.

Store the toy in a sealed bag or container between sessions to keep the catnip aroma fresh for longer. Supervise play and replace the toy if the seams open or the filling becomes exposed.
