Purina - Pro Plan Complete Essentials Shredded Blend Chicken & Rice Dry Dog Food

TL;DR: Purina Pro Plan Complete Essentials Shredded Blend Chicken & Rice is an adult dry dog food made with real chicken as the first ingredient, combining crunchy kibble with tender shredded pieces. It's built for adult dogs on an everyday maintenance diet, and for owners who want a familiar chicken-and-rice recipe with a mixed-texture bowl.

This recipe pairs real chicken with rice as a complete and balanced adult diet. The shredded blend texture gives dogs two mouthfeels in the same bowl — crunchy pieces plus softer shredded strands.

Live probiotics, omega fatty acids and antioxidants round out the formula to support digestion, skin and coat, and overall wellness.

Specifications

Who is it for?

This purina pro plan complete essentials dog food is formulated for adult dogs eating a standard daily maintenance diet. It suits owners looking for a straightforward chicken-and-rice recipe rather than a limited-ingredient or specialty formula.

The 6 lb bag works well for single-dog homes or a first trial, while the 35 lb bag fits multi-dog households and larger breeds. Dogs who lose interest in uniform kibble often respond well to the mixed-texture format.

How do I feed and store it?

Feed as a complete and balanced daily diet for adult dogs, using the feeding guide printed on the bag as your starting point for your dog's weight and activity level. Keep fresh water available at all times.

When switching from another food, transition gradually over 7–10 days by mixing increasing amounts of the new food into the old. This gives your dog's digestion time to adjust.

Store the bag sealed in a cool, dry place to protect freshness and kibble texture. A diet with omega fatty acids pairs well with regular brushing if coat condition is your focus.
