Hill's Science Diet - Large Breed Lamb Meal & Brown Rice Dry Dog Food

TL;DR: Hill's Science Diet Large Breed Lamb Meal & Brown Rice is a 33 lb bag of dry dog food made for adult large-breed dogs, built around lamb meal as the primary protein with brown rice for digestible carbohydrates. It includes glucosamine and chondroitin to support joint health, making it a practical everyday choice for owners of bigger dogs who do well on a lamb-and-rice recipe.

Large-breed adults carry more weight on their joints and generally need steadier, well-portioned energy than smaller dogs. This formula is built around that reality: a lamb-forward recipe with brown rice, plus added joint-support nutrients in every meal.

Is this a puppy formula or an adult formula?

This bag is formulated for adult large-breed dogs, not puppies. Shoppers often search for a large breed lamb and rice puppy food and land here, so it's worth confirming your dog's life stage before you buy — growing puppies need a growth-specific diet instead.

Specifications

Who is it for?

This food suits adult large-breed dogs whose owners want a lamb-based recipe with joint support built into daily meals. It's a sensible pick if your dog eats better on lamb than on chicken or beef, or if you simply want a single 33 lb bag that lasts a while with a bigger eater.

It is not intended for puppies, and dogs with a diagnosed health condition should be switched to any new diet only after speaking with your veterinarian.

What if you have a smaller or older dog?

For small-breed households, this Hills Science Diet dog food has close relatives worth comparing: Hill's Science Diet - Chicken Meal & Rice Small Breed Dry Dog Food for adults, and Hill's Science Diet - Chicken Meal Barley & Brown Rice Small Breed Senior Dry Dog Food for seniors. How do you feed and store it?

Use the feeding guide printed on the bag as your starting point, based on your dog's adult weight and activity level, then adjust to maintain a healthy body condition. Keep fresh water available at all times.

Transition gradually over about seven days, mixing an increasing proportion of the new kibble with your dog's current food each day. Store the bag sealed in a cool, dry place to keep the kibble fresh through a large 33 lb bag.

Available for same-day pickup at our North York, Toronto storefront, or ships Canada-wide.
