Farmina - Pumpkin Venison & Apple Dry Cat Food

TL;DR: Farmina - Pumpkin Venison & Apple is a grain-free dry cat food built around venison as a novel protein, with pumpkin and apple added for fibre and antioxidants. It's designed for adult small-breed cats, and is worth considering for cats sensitive to more common proteins like chicken, beef, or fish.

Searching for Farmina dry cat food reviews that focus on single-protein, grain-free recipes? This formula (also listed as farmina n&d pumpkin venison & apple dry cat food) uses venison as its primary protein and skips wheat, corn, and other grains.

The kibble is rounded out with pumpkin and apple, plus taurine and omega-3 fatty acids — nutrients cats need from their diet rather than ones they produce on their own.

What makes this cat food different?

Most dry cat food relies on chicken, beef, or fish. Venison is a novel protein, meaning cats are unlikely to have developed a sensitivity to it, which is why it often appears in elimination-style diets.

If you've ever wondered "will deer eat dry cat food" — the answer is no, but the reverse works well for many cats: venison-based recipes give felines a protein source outside the everyday rotation.
