Ashario Pets - Outdoor Training Chain Dog Collar

TL;DR: The Ashario Pets Outdoor Training Chain Dog Collar is a stainless steel slip-chain collar built for leash training and outdoor walks with adult dogs. It's designed for experienced handlers who need consistent, even feedback during corrections, and it comes in Medium and Large.

This collar uses a classic slip-chain design: it tightens evenly when your dog pulls and releases the moment tension stops. The stainless steel links resist corrosion, so the collar holds up to regular outdoor use in Canadian weather.

Within the Ashario Pets training & control range of dog supplies online, a chain collar is a common pick when flat collars or harnesses don't give an adult dog enough feedback for leash correction during walks.

Who is it for?

This collar is a practical pick for experienced owners, trainers, and handlers working with adult dogs that pull on leash. It is not intended for puppies or for first-time handlers without guidance on slip-chain technique.

Because pulling habits vary across dog breeds, the slip-chain delivers brief, even feedback rather than constant pressure. That helps keep training walks calm and consistent for dogs that need clearer cues.

How do you use a chain training collar?

Slide the collar over your dog's head so it sits high on the neck, just behind the ears. The leash attaches to the "live" ring, so the chain tightens briefly when your dog pulls and loosens when they return to your side.

Use short, well-timed leash cues rather than sustained pressure, and remove the collar between training sessions. The chain should sit snugly high on the neck without hanging loose around the shoulders.

Fit and sizing

Choose Medium for mid-size dogs and Large for bigger, stronger builds. If you're between sizes, our North York team can help with an in-person fitting.

Feeding & use

This is a training accessory, not a food product, so there's nothing to feed. Fit the collar high on the neck for each session, pair it with clear leash cues, and remove it once the walk or training session ends.
