Merrick - Purrfect Bistro Grain Free Chicken Pate Canned Cat Food

TL;DR: Merrick Purrfect Bistro Grain Free Chicken Pate is a grain-free canned cat food built around chicken as the featured protein. Its smooth pate texture suits adult cats who prefer wet food or need extra moisture in their diet.

This chicken cat food delivers a chicken-forward recipe in a soft pate format, easy to serve on its own or mixed with kibble. The grain-free formulation skips wheat, corn, and soy, keeping the focus on animal protein.

Wet food also adds dietary moisture, which can be helpful for a cat that doesn't drink much water from a bowl.

Who is it for?

This recipe suits an adult cat whose owner wants a grain-free wet food with chicken as the primary protein. It's also a good fit for cats who prefer pate over shredded or gravy-style textures, or who benefit from the extra hydration canned food provides.

If you're rotating proteins across the Purrfect Bistro line, pair it with Merrick - Purrfect Bistro Grain Free Tuna Pate Canned Cat Food for variety within the same brand.

Feeding & use

Serve at room temperature. Follow the feeding guide printed on the can, adjusting to your cat's weight, age, and activity level. Cover and refrigerate any unused portion, and discard after 24 hours.

Introduce new foods gradually over 7–10 days by mixing with your cat's current food in increasing amounts. Always keep fresh water available, even when feeding wet food.

How does it compare to other grain-free pates?

If you want to buy chicken pate but also rotate across brands, two grain-free alternatives worth considering are Open Farm - Grain Free Chicken & Salmon Pate Canned Cat Food and Open Farm - Grain Free Harvest Chicken Pate Canned Cat Food. Rotating proteins across brands can help keep a picky cat interested at mealtime.
