Specifications

Who is it for?

This syringe is designed for pet owners, fosters, and caregivers managing hand-fed animals — newborn puppies or kittens, post-surgery dogs, seniors with a reduced appetite, or small exotics. It's also a practical pick for anyone who needs to administer liquid medication on a schedule.

Which size should you choose?

Available in 10 mL, 35 mL, and 60 mL, so you can match the syringe to the animal and feeding volume. The 10 mL suits neonates, small exotics, and medication dosing; the 35 mL works well for small dogs and cats; the 60 mL is better for larger dogs or higher-volume feedings.

Feeding & use

Fill the Lixit hand feeding syringe with the prescribed liquid or a smooth slurry, then deliver small amounts to the side of the mouth, allowing the pet to swallow between doses. Never force liquid quickly into the throat, as this can cause aspiration.

Rinse thoroughly with warm water after each use and allow the syringe to air dry. In the syringe feeding vs bottle decision, a syringe offers more precise portion control — a real advantage when syringe feeding a cat that won't eat or a pet that refuses a bottle nipple.

A note on care

If your pet is refusing food for more than 24 hours, or if you're unsure about volume, frequency, or consistency, check in with your veterinarian before continuing hand feeding.
