KONG - Extreme Black Dog Toy

TL;DR: The KONG Extreme is an ultra-durable black rubber chew toy built for power chewers in medium to giant breeds. Its stuffable hollow centre doubles as a food puzzle, making it a strong pick for dog enrichment in Toronto homes where boredom and crate-time restlessness are real problems.

Power chewers need more than a standard rubber toy. The KONG Extreme uses KONG's most durable rubber formulation, designed to stand up to dogs that tear through ordinary toys in minutes.

Beyond chewing, the hollow centre turns it into a food puzzle. Stuff it with kibble, treats, or spreads to extend mealtime and keep your dog mentally engaged.

Who is it for?

This toy is made for dogs who are hard on their toys — the chewers who shred plush, crack nylon bones, and flatten standard rubber within a week. It suits medium, large, and giant breeds who need a chew that pushes back.

If you have a softer-mouthed dog or a young puppy, the KONG - Puppy Dog Toy uses a gentler rubber formula designed for developing teeth.

How do you use a KONG Extreme?

Stuff the hollow centre with kibble, peanut butter, wet food, or frozen spreads to turn a quick snack into a longer session of focused work. Freezing the stuffed toy extends the session further and is useful for high-energy dogs on rest days or after a busy day at the park.

Always supervise chew sessions and check the toy regularly for damage. Replace it if you see deep cracks, chunks missing, or exposed inner surfaces.

What pairs well with it?

For dogs who love variety, the KONG - Black Extreme Ring Dog Toy offers the same durable rubber in a tug-and-fetch shape, while the KONG - Gyro Dog Toy adds a treat-dispensing puzzle for indoor enrichment. Rotating two or three toys keeps interest high and extends the life of each one.
