KONG - Cloud Dog Collar

TL;DR: The KONG Cloud Dog Collar is a soft, inflatable recovery collar that helps stop dogs from licking or chewing wounds, hot spots, and surgical sites. It's a gentler alternative to hard plastic cones, letting dogs rest, eat, and move comfortably while they heal.

Shopping dog shops Toronto for recovery gear? The Cloud Collar uses a pillow-like inflatable chamber that sits around the neck, so your dog can still see, sleep, and navigate the house without bumping into walls.

What makes the Cloud Collar different from a hard cone?

Traditional cones are rigid, noisy, and can make eating or resting awkward. The Cloud Collar's soft inflated ring acts as a physical barrier to licking and chewing without restricting vision, which often means a calmer dog and a smoother recovery window.

Key features

• Inflatable, pillow-style design for gentle protection against licking and chewing
• Soft surface that lets dogs rest in natural positions, unlike rigid cones
• Adjustable fit that stays in place without blocking peripheral vision
• Supports post-surgery recovery and healing of skin irritations or minor injuries
• Easy to inflate, wipe clean, and deflate for storage between uses

Specifications

Available in four sizes — X-Small, Small, Medium, and Large — so you can match the collar to your dog's neck and body proportions.

Who is it for?

This collar suits dogs recovering from surgery, stitches, hot spots, or skin irritations where licking and chewing need to be limited. It's also a practical pick for dogs who find rigid plastic cones too stressful or bulky at mealtimes and bedtime.

If you're comparing recovery options, you may also like the E Collar or the E Collar for firmer protection, plus the KONG - Donut Dog Toy for gentle enrichment once your dog is feeling better.

Feeding & use

Inflate the collar to a firm but not over-tight pressure, then secure it around your dog's neck by threading their regular flat collar through the inner loops. You should be able to slide two fingers between the Cloud Collar and your dog's neck — snug enough to stay in place, loose enough to breathe and swallow comfortably.

Supervise your dog during the first hour of wear and check the fit daily. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth as needed, and deflate for storage once recovery is complete.
