Specifications

Who is it for?

This clipper is built for toy and small-breed dogs and puppies, whose thinner nails benefit from a smaller, more precise cutting edge. Keeping nails short also supports joint health by reducing the awkward gait that overgrown nails can cause.

It's also a sensible option for senior small dogs whose nails need frequent, gentle maintenance at home. You may also like the Dexypaws - Cat Nail Clipper for feline household members, or the JW - GripSoft Nail Grinder for a filed, rounded finish. Refresh worn accessories with Conairpro - Replacement Grinding Bands And Drum to keep your grinder performing.

Feeding & use

Hold your dog's paw firmly but gently, and identify the quick — the pink area inside lighter nails — before you cut. Trim small slivers at a time and stop before the quick; the built-in safety stop helps guide how far the blade closes.

Work in a calm, well-lit space and reward your dog between nails to keep the session positive. Trim every two to four weeks, or whenever you hear nails clicking on hard floors.

How do I choose between Small and Large?

Choose Small for puppies, toy breeds, and small dogs with thin nails. Choose Large if your small-breed dog has thicker or faster-growing nails that need a bit more leverage.
