Ashario Pets - "StrideAssist" Walking Assist Strap - XL

TL;DR: The Ashario Pets "StrideAssist" Walking Assist Strap in XL is a padded support belt sized for giant breeds and oversized senior dogs. It helps you gently lift your dog's rear hips during walks, stair climbs, and post-surgery recovery.

The XL StrideAssist scales the supportive design up for dogs that need a longer belt span and stronger two-hand lifting. It suits handlers who want to share their dog's weight without straining their own back.

Why choose the XL size?

Giant breeds and oversized adults need more coverage than standard straps provide. The XL belt offers a wider span under the abdomen and sturdier handles for balanced lifting.

Key features

Who is it for?

The XL StrideAssist suits giant-breed seniors such as Great Danes, Saint Bernards, and Mastiffs with declining hip strength. It also works well for oversized dogs recovering from surgery or living with long-term mobility limitations that require a wider support span.

How do you use the StrideAssist strap?

Wrap the padded belt under your dog's abdomen or rear hips, then grip both handles for balanced two-hand lifting. Use it for short walks, stair climbs, getting in and out of vehicles, and ramp transitions.

Go slowly, let your dog set the pace, and check the fit before each use. Many owners add this strap to their kit alongside a harness for full mobility support.

What if my dog is medium or large?

If the XL is more strap than your dog needs, the Ashario Pets - "StrideAssist" Walking Assist Strap - L is sized for medium-to-large dogs. Many owners pair the StrideAssist with the Ashario Pets - Lightweight Reflective Harness and the Ashario Pets - Reflective Comfort Dog Leash to round out a senior dog's walking setup.
